Hello Everyone, My name is LaSchanda Johnson born and raised in Los Angeles California. I am a graduate of Crenshaw High School. I have one son who attends Howard University in Washington, DC. I'm married to my high-school sweetheart for 20+ years. We are currently empty-nesters and we are enjoying every minute.
Education
I'm a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1997, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. I originally planned on attending law school, but GOD had other plans for me. In 2005 I earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix. In the 2018, I began pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership Administration and Policy, at a highly prestigious and well-respected institution, Pepperdine University. December 2020, I became a Doctoral Candidate.
Employment
For 8+ years, I’ve participated in the role of Internal Auditor for the Los Angeles College Community District. There are 9 community colleges in the district. I am charged with providing an independent and objective evaluation of the company’s operational business activities, which if not monitored can cause potential harm to the organization (i.e. fraud, embezzlement, kiting, etc.) .The overall goal is to ensure the colleges are operating within the State and Federal guidelines/requirements and the college districts Policies and Procedures.

Prior to being in Higher Education I was an Assistant Director at Communities Centers, Inc. in South Los Angeles from 2011-2016. I was responsible for overseeing daily program operations in developing a diverse workforce that opens the door to opportunity and career advancement, for At Risk and Foster Youth, People with Disabilities, Disadvantaged Individuals, Families and Veterans. Employment at Communities Center, Inc. prompted sparked curiosity and interest into the policies and procedures/practices of higher education.
1997 to 2007 I was Medicare audit manager for 2 large Health plans. I entered into the world of audit in 1997, after landing my first job at one of the health plans.

5 Years to present I volunteer for the Internal Audit Institute Los Angeles, Chapter where I am the Vice President of Membership, and also for my undergraduate Alma Mater, Southern University, Los Angeles Alumni Chapter where I serve as the Vice President of Mentorship.
